“Avatar” was a very advanced movie for its time and was giving the world a whole new perspective of how movies could be made. James Cameron the director of the movie even had the idea of Avatar a decade before it came out, but he needed technology to advance so he could make his dream come to life. He used full body motion capture and
used a virtual camera to see the actors as Na’vi on his camera” Before shooting, James Cameron took the actors to Hawaii to feel what it would be like to be a Na’vi he even took the actors to Hawaii in the jungle to really feel what it might be like to survive like the Na’vi. James Cameron was also able to make these characters look and feel real. People loved the movie when it came out showing them an entire new way of movie making with motion capture. The movie is 2hrs and 42 minutes long and i personally liked how realistic the movie was. They liked all of the characters, the relationships and the bonding and how much emotion the actors expressed and how well shown there emotions were seen even with the layers of cgi changing there faces. The movie also shows lots of real life problems like war, habitat destruction” and military exploitation and this would give some people a new perspective. How earth is our version of pandora and we are slowly destroying it. – Taylor Steffens
