“ii”(aka UNLOCKED 2) by Denzel Curry is the highly anticipated sequel to his widely received album UNLOCKED. This project features popular artists like JPEGMAFIA, Westside Gun, and the rising star, “Yebba”, executively produced by Kenneth ‘Kenny
Beats” Blume. The sample heavy beats are immensely reminiscent of late 90s and early 2000s Kanye West production. This style of production is a continuation of the sample heavy style on the original, including 50s-70s classic rock and soul. Denzel’s lyrical ability shines throughout this project as he delivers captivating flows on the outro track “DIFFERENCE”(Feat. Yebba) and is a much needed change from his grimey southern inspired albums “STRICTLY 4 THE SYTHE” and “KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH VOL. 2”. “ii” is a masterclass in the southern flow that was pioneered by hip hop legends like OUTKAST and Master P leading to this album being a must listen to any fan of the hip hop/rap genre.
