“Adopt Me!” is a game made on “Roblox”(Roblox being a major platform with thousands of other games in it for players to play). In 2017 intended for children and preteen players. This game was originally made as a roleplay game similar to Brookhaven, a game where you can roleplay with other kids online as a family, go to school, get a job, or have a simple day in the life. But to adopt me, you can choose whether to be an adult or a
baby. As a baby, you get tasks to complete for money. Small tasks, like food, water, and walking, pay about 12-15 bucks; larger paid tasks, like school, a pizza party, pool party, get you 16-20 bucks. Once the game made their pets update in 2018, the game blew up with players and, since then, has been a game about adopting and raising pets for money. Most players joined around 2020-22, so considering there weren’t as many players in 2017-19, any pets, toys, or any other items made during that time are considered very high value according to Adopt Me fans. During updates in the game, you can either pay Robux (the Roblox company’s player currency), pets usually costing 90 – 1k Robux, or Adopt Me Bucks, usually 500 – 70k as prices for pets. But normally, items like toys or cars are far cheaper (50 – 20k). In this game, you can trade pets, potions, cars, toys, food, etc. You can dye your pets and, by paying Robux, you can keep the colors with the paint sealer. You can completely model your own house from scratch (somewhat). You can get jobs at the pizza place, hospital, school, salon, and for the day you get paid in-game bucks (50 bucks by the end of the day). Most events are about the holidays, like the Halloween or Christmas updates, which are major events that last about 2 months. During these updates, limited-edition pets, toys, and cars are added to fit the theme, and you get to use the currency that is added with the update, like every Christmas event having gingerbread currency and the Halloween event using candy corn. Most other events last 1 – 3 weeks, with mini-games for us to earn the currency of the event. Adopt Me is a popular and fun game on Roblox that anyone and everyone can enjoy! – Olivia Mowery
